Tell the story behind the work.
Documentary-style video for charities, community projects, arts organisations, campaigns and businesses in Perth and across Central Scotland.
More than a polished overview.
A documentary video gives people time to understand the story, not just the headline.
It can explain a project, capture lived experience, show community impact, support funding, preserve a milestone or help an audience connect with the people behind the work. Based in Perth, LightPress creates documentary-style films for organisations across Perthshire, Dundee, Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Central Scotland.
What documentary video can do.
Useful when the message needs depth, trust and a human voice.

Tell personal stories
Use real voices and natural footage to help audiences understand an experience from the inside.

Share knowledge

EXPLAIN A PROJECT
OLD GOLD
LightPress was asked to create this video to show how Old Gold Racing makes racehorse ownership more accessible. Featuring syndicate members, trainers and the team behind Apple Away, the film captures the excitement, community and behind-the-scenes experience of sharing in the journey of a successful racehorse.
SUPPORT FUNDING
ILM AT BLAIRGOWRIE HIGH SCHOOL
When Blairgowrie High School teamed up with Industrial Light & Magic, LightPress captured the experience from the pupils’ point of view. The film follows their introduction to visual effects, coding, storyboarding and 3D modelling, while showing how access to industry professionals can open up entirely new career possibilities.
EXPLAIN A PROJECT
ENCHANTED FOREST
The Perth Podcast were attending media night at the Enchanted Forest and needed to capture the story of the event.
Why, when and where does it need to work?
Documentary-style videos work best when they are shaped around the audience. A film for funders may need clear outcomes. A film for the public may need warmth and clarity. A film for participants may need to feel true to their experience.
Interviews
Natural conversations with the people who know the story best.
Observation
Footage that shows the work happening, rather than only talking about it.
Context
Clear structure so viewers understand the problem, purpose and result.
Delivery
Finished files for websites, social media, reports, events and presentations.
Real stories need careful handling.
Documentary filming often involves people talking about personal experiences, challenges, support or change. The process needs to feel calm, respectful and well planned.
LightPress keeps shoots focused and practical, while making enough space for honest moments to come through naturally.
